National Kinship Care Service - Change of Service Delivery Provider

We wish to make you aware that the National Kinship Care service will be delivered under a new partnership between Adoption UK (Scotland) and the Adoption and Fostering Alliance Scotland with effect from 1st September 2020.

During the transition period, all providers will aim to minimise any disruption to the service.

We understand that this announcement will raise further questions, and additional communication will follow.

All across Scotland, thousands of people care for children because their natural parents are unable to do so. These are often grandparents, aunts and uncles but can also be family friends. People who look after children in these kinds of circumstances are often known as ‘kinship carers’.

Our Kinship Care project is funded by the Scottish Government and offers detailed, specialist advice and support for kinship carers. If you feel overwhelmed about your situation, are in need of advice about how being a Kinship Carer will impact on your life, or if you are worried about how your finances will be affected then please get in touch and our team of dedicated advisers will strive to provide you with the information you need.

The service can be accessed by:

- Online at:

- Coming in during our drop-in times to see a generalist adviser
