Aberdeen Citizens Advice Bureau has been providing advice and information to the people of Aberdeen for over 80 years.

Aberdeen Citizens Advice Bureau gives all clients free, confidential, impartial and independent advice on a wide range of subjects, including:

  • Benefits: questions about entitlements, support  with applications and appeals against unfair decisions

  • Debt advice: how to manage your debts, improve your financial situation and maximize your income (the debt service is funded for people living in Aberdeen City only)

  • Employment: questions about terms and conditions, dismissal, redundancy, intimidation and unfair dismissal

  • Immigration: from EU workers to asylum seekers

  • Consumer Issues: everything from broken kettles to difficulties with gas and electricity suppliers

  • Relationships: issues relating to splitting up, children, and bereavement

  • Housing: your rights

Clients facing homelessness and eviction should contact Shelter.

Due to Covid-19 the bureau is currently closed for public access. We hope to re-open drop-in services soon.

In the last few months we have been overwhelmed by the number of clients seeking advice. To ensure we can meet this demand we are training a higher than usual number of Volunteer Advisers.

The time required to undertake this training is impacting on clients, resulting in longer waiting times.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We also run a Benefits and Money Advice Outreach Program in the Powis, Torry, Mastrick, Woodside and Northfield areas, as well as Hospital Outreach Service at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Woodend Hospital.

If you are in Aberdeenshire find out about the closest Citizens Advice Bureau near you.

If you require advice, please call us on 01224 569750, Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm. You will be put on a waiting list to be contacted by an adviser.
